UNIMY to host conference to provide insight into digital technology

The University Malaysia of Computer Science & Engineering (UNIMY) is set to host the International Conference on Frontiers of Digital Technology Towards a Sustainable Society (ICDiTS 2022) next January.

UNIMY vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Razali Muhamad said the Jan 26-27 conference aimed to provide an insight into and overview of the future-friendly development of digital technology.

He added that the conference’s two keynote speakers – Machine Intelligence Research Labs director Prof Dr Ajith Abraham and BRITE Professional Services director Prof Dr San Murugesan – would share the latest on machine intelligence and green information technology (IT) respectively.

He said this was much needed as digital technology advancements had spread rapidly across the world, especially during the pandemic, in which it provided every nation with unprecedented opportunities to boost productivity growth, employment and quality of life.

“With renowned individuals like Dr San Murugesan, who has developed and delivered multi-level certification and training programmes on Green IT, the Internet of Things amongst others, and Dr Ajith Abraham, known for his work in a multi-disciplinary environment involving, for example, machine intelligence, cyber-physical systems and its application to real world issues, we are confident attendees will leave ICDiTS 2022 with enhanced appreciation of key issues impacting frontiers of digital technology and its role towards achieving a sustainable society,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, the conference chair-cum-UNIMY head of Transformative Learning, Dr Nor Azlinah Md Lazam said the ICDiTS 2022 would highlight the tight correlations and interlinks between the different expertise that UNIMY has with the conference’s co-organisers – local partners Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia and international partners Universitas Mulia Indonesia, Universitas Raharja Indonesia and Gaza University.

“We believe that the ICDiTS 2022 will be an excellent platform for a discourse on innovative ideas, given the scope of the seven theme-based tracks that is available,” she said.

The seven themes are Coding Development and Operation; Internet of Everything and Smart Machine; AI and Intelligent Machine; Cybersecurity; Extended Reality (AR, VR, XR) and Creative Digital Multimedia; Cloud Computing and Software Engineering; and Digital Business.
