Mike Tyson’s Response When Asked If He Could Beat Floyd Mayweather In A Dream Super-Fight

Boxing legend Mike Tyson believes that Floyd Mayweather wouldn’t beat him in a dream fight, but he admitted that it would “be tough to beat him.”

Speaking during the promotion of HBO’s Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth in 2013, ‘Iron’ Mike was asked how would he beat Mayweather in a fight.

The ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ responded: “It would be tough to beat him. He’s a really great fighter. He’d be tough for anyone to beat him in his weight division.

When he was asked if Mayweather would beat him in a super-fight, Tyson said: “I don’t know. I don’t really think so.”

Tyson continued by joking that he would be happy to meet Mayweather inside the squared circle so “long as he’s 140lbs and I’m 200lbs.”

When the interviewer said he would back Tyson in the fight, ‘Iron’ Mike responded: “Thank you. Well, I’d like to fight him as long as he’s 140lbs and I’m 200lbs [laughs].

“He’s not really fast: he’s really agile. You have to have experience to beat this guy, you have to be determined and hungry and desire.

“You can’t beat him if you’re a neophyte in that particular realm.”

Tyson has previously been asked what would happen in a mega-clash with Mayweather, who retired with an unblemished 50-0 record in 2017.

“I would fight a guy like Floyd differently if he was a heavyweight,” Tyson told the Wall Street Journal in 2013.

“We can never fight, of course, because of the weight difference, but I wouldn’t fight him the way they fought him […].

“I would be mean, I would be dirty. Because you’d have to do everything to fight him because he’s just so good. You can’t… it’s almost impossible to fight him clean.

“It’s almost impossible to fight him clean. You can’t fight him clean. You can’t fight this guy clean.”–sportbible
